"Hands down, this was one of the best meals we had in New Zealand. From the moment we walked in, we loved the theme—especially since my husband is a big whiskey lover. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the concept was done really well. I ordered the Canterbury lamb rump, and it was absolutely incredible. The portion size was huge and came with a delicious potato gratin. I loved every bite—the lamb was cooked to perfection, beautifully tender, and still perfectly pink in the middle. My husband ordered the beef sirloin, which was just as impressive. You absolutely need to get the duck fat potatoes and the charcoal cabbage—both were standout sides and added so much flavor to the meal. My husband also ordered the whiskey flight and loved it. The staff did an excellent job explaining each whiskey with great detail, which made the experience both informative and enjoyable. The only downside to an otherwise amazing experience was the service pacing. While the staff was very kind and attentive, our server came by every few minutes asking if everything was okay or if we wanted to order more. Unfortunately, it felt a bit rushed and made it difficult to fully relax and enjoy the meal, especially when we felt encouraged to order more. Overall, the food, atmosphere, and whiskey selection were outstanding, and the kindness of the staff truly stood out. We would still highly recommend this place and would absolutely return—hopefully next time with a more relaxed dining experience."

"Absolutely amazing experience, I visited with clients for dinner and the service was quick and really friendly, excellent drinks menu with plenty of options. I enjoyed the prawn cocktail and the tiger prawns for the entrée, the tomahawk steak with mushroom sauce was next level absolutely 10/10!! Potato Gratin and Duck Fat Potatoes must have!! Really enjoyed this experience"

"We came down to Chch from Auckland for a weekend to attend an event. Popped in to the Whisky Fiddle for dinner but was a little unsure about the whole look especially ‘eating your meal in the middle of a pub’. However- I couldn’t have got it more wrong- we thoroughly enjoyed the food- the steak was cooked beautifully- the staff were attentive and friendly and the background music was very much in keeping. We loved it here and certainly would return. Highly recommend. Thanks"

"Had the Josper fire sirloin and rib eye steaks, with duck fat potatoes and peas, beans and onion greens. The peppercorn sauce and French butter were great addition to the steaks. Everything was cooked to perfection! The ambience was on point with country music in the background and calming lighting throughout this cozy restaurant. Highly recommend this place when you visit Christchurch."
